Cool PCs and Microsoft Photosynth

First of all, shout out to all my Algerian friends. Who knew I had such a fanbase?!

My friend showed me a couple awesome PC mods, and I felt compelled to share them with you, my reader (note the intentional use of the singular “reader”).

The first is a Half-Life 2 one:

You can check out all the pictures here.

The second one is a Black Mesa one:

Check out more pics of it here.

They are both incredible. My two thumbs go way up to whoever made these. I particularly like the HL2 one (although the BM one has some cool temperature control, no pun intended). The Black Mesa one has a lot of pictures throughout the creation process which was interesting.

Also, today obviously was the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama. I came across a post from Xbox Live’s Major Nelson saying that Microsoft was looking for people who were attending the inauguration to take pictures and upload them to Photosynth. Photosynth basically takes a bunch of pictures and creates a 3D model of the photos. I was taking a look at some of the different photosynths of the inauguration and I have to say it’s pretty cool. I actually downloaded the free software a few days ago to make some of my own, but I haven’t had a chance to do so yet.

  1. It actually looks like the in-game control panels, with the broken glass and all, it’s toxic!
