Quick Update

June 25, 2009 at 10:53 pm | Clarion Media, wapClix | No comments

I just wanted to make a quick update in regard to Clarion Media. The new website is finally finished. You can check it out here. We’re still making some minor design changes and bug fixes, but overall it’s done. It seems like we went through about 100 different designs until we finally settled with this one. For the most part I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. Down the road we have plans to develop a really nice client interface, not sure if I’ve mentioned that before or not. Now that the website is finished, we can turn our attention to wapClix and hopefully get that finished up and finally launched soon. (more…)

Clarion Media, Black Jack, and Zombies

We scratched the new design for Clarion Media last minute. It sucks, but the reality was that it just wasn’t flexible enough for our needs. The good news is that we’ve already got a design we’re going to move forward with, and it should actually see the light of day (fingers crossed). The funny thing is is that it’s a design I whipped up in about an hour. It was not refined whatsoever whereas the previous design–the one we canned–I labored over for about a week making adjustments. Hopefully we’ll see this thing live by the end of this month around the time wapClix launches. We also may begin work on programming a new client interface where clients can manage projects and other parts of their account, but that’s for another post. (more…)

wapClix

So it’s been well over a month since I last posted but for good reason. Clarion Media will soon be rolling out its new mobile advertising network wapClix. We’re currently taking both advertiser and publisher applicants for the beta program. Basically, wapClix is an advertising platform that connects advertisers with publishers (and if you didn’t know, “WAP” stands for Wireless Application Protocol, hence the name). It allows publishers to target their ads to specific audiences and also it has a spider that indexes all of their pages so they can maximize their ad impressions. Additionally publishers can create ad campaigns designed for what their traffic and average click-through rate is. There’s a mobile control panel that allows both publishers and advertisers to monitor their campaign statistics from their phone. We’ve already got many applications from some pretty big firms, so we’re pretty excited about this. If you want more information on the service, check out the official wapClix press release. This project, of course, has slowed work on the Clarion Media website, but it’s pretty close to being finished. We’re hoping to get it up within the next couple weeks.

Other than this, I don’t really have any significant updates to give. No idea when I’ll make another blog update, could be tomorrow, next week or next month.
